Rheology, dispersion, and cure kinetics of epoxy filled with amine? and non?functionalized reduced graphene oxide for composite manufacturing

This study evaluates the effect of plasma surface functionalization reduced graphene oxide particles on processing characteristics and homogeneity dispersion a bisphenol A-(epichlorhydrin) epoxy matrix amine-based hardener with varying weight fractions from 0.00 to 1.50 wt%. It was observed that amine-functionalized leads more drastic viscosity increase up 18-fold uncured suspensions its presence influences conversion rates curing reaction. Optical microscopy thin sections transmission electron analysis showed homogeneous could be achieved especially at higher by using an appropriate functionalization. knowledge can used define suitable conditions for epoxies hardeners depending loading graphene-related particles.
